Krista has nearly twenty years of experience in Graphic Design and Marketing, Internet & Information Technologies, Software Development, Product & Project Management, Quality Assurance, in fields ranging from internet security, biotechnology, network management, desktop publishing, and e-commerce.
Krista has a proven track record for balancing time to market with feature set in order to produce the highest quality product possible within the specified time line. She has trained and mentored many developers and testers over the course of her career, teaching them real world scenarios such as documentation of systems, defect tracking, and product life cycle.
At Evergreen Printing, Krista assisted the lead Graphic Designer with all art for printed media, as well as initiating projects using latest digital technologies.
At Adobe Systems she led a team of testers in the localization of Adobe software into thirteen single-byte languages. Within two release cycles sales increase up to 50% in many countries due mainly to the increased quality of the product and the accuracy of the translations. She worked extensively with the core teams on various products to facilitate the localization efforts.
At Amazon.com she contracted part-time which initiated the need for a quality assurance group to focus on testing of the e-commerce functionality.
At FORE Systems she assisted in the complete rewrite of the network management software. The redesign included all functionality released in a stand-alone application and a web-based interface that supported many browsers and integrated with other network management packages.
At Cellomics she established the quality assurance department as well as the software development processes and procedures. She assisted in hiring and training of a team of developers and testers to build a team responsible for writing and testing user interface, databases and algorithms to analyze information obtained from an imaging devices developed by Cellomics.
At KDN Printing, Krista worked as the sole Graphic Designer for a small off set print shop. She worked extensively with clients to ensure that all projects were achieved in a satisfactory manner for the client and the press operator.
At Securit-e-Doc she was responsible for the development efforts of two separate projects; a secure document transport package and a secure web server package. She was also the key contact person for all solution providers and government agencies. This included training, setting up and supporting the systems that were put into the field.
Currently, Krista spends her time working as a freelance Graphic Designer, Web Designer, and Consultant. She works on projects from large database driven web sites and direct mail campaigns to personal web sites, print campaigns and fund raisers.
The mixture of art & science with design & technology showcase her skills in both arenas. Krista’s technological skills surpass many in the same field due to her extensive background in commercial software development. Her artistic skills enhance the look, feel and usability of the final product.
